Another great movie from the Malayalam film industry. This movie is directed by kamal in the year 2013.This film is about the father of Malayalam film industry, J.C.Daniel(Joseph Chellayya Daniel Nadar ). This is film is based on the life story of J.C. Daniel and based on the novel Nashta Naayika by Vinu Abraham . A biography of J. C. Daniel written by Chelangatt Gopalakrishnan. In 1928 J. C. Daniel wants to make a first movie in kerala state (southern part of india) so he met Dada Saheb Phalke the father of indian cinema and retrun to Trivandrum which is in kerala. He choose the low caste girl (whose name is rosy) as heroine for his first movie in kerala. After 2-3 years of production he released the movie in theatre, at that time people of upper-caste society denied rosy to watch the film since she is low caste girl. when the upper-caste people came to know that the rosy is heroine in the film the entire society banned the film and fired rosy’s house.since the film was failed J.C.Daniel sufferd severely from the financial condition and he went to tamil nadu with his family and completing his dental degree and became a dentist in madras and once again he tries to take the cinema and now he is cheated by a famous Tamil actor P.U.cinnappa and his crew and once again he lost everything suffers a lot even their children except his last son abandoned him and his wife and in 1975 april 29 finally he dies as a nomad in a small village in Tamil nadu(southern part of india) without getting the proper recognition of his first movie in kerala and himself. In the year of 2000 ,Kerala film industry declared J.C.Daniel as the father of malayalam cinema.
It received seven Kerala State Film Awards including for Best Film and Best Actor.
